Our Goal Is Simple:
To Help Diverse Founders And Talent In The San Diego Startup Community Thrive

The Village Up leads impactful initiatives that engage diverse entrepreneurs and talent. We mobilize people to improve diversity and access to business and career opportunities for the underrepresented in the San Diego tech startup community.

Bridging The Skill Gap

With the help of entrepreneurs, professionals, and thought leaders from our community, we create learning opportunities that allow tech founders and talent to expand their skillset and add value to the San Diego innovation space.

Resources & Insights

We provide diverse founders and talent with tools and resources that keep them on the pulse of technology and guide them towards their goals.

Community

We create networking opportunities by bringing both established and aspiring tech entrepreneurs, talent, and students together to support each other's growth.

 Ecosystem Map Task Force:

Goal: Develop a dashboard for founders on available resources

Map out the San Diego entrepreneurial ecosystem, including the resources and programs provided by local organizations for founders, funders, and startup supporters. The goal is to publish a report next year that can serve as a resource for entrepreneurs and identify gaps to be filled.

Badging Credential Task Force:

Goal: What would the badge criteria and implementation look like

Identify the feasibility of developing a digital badging system for partners and institutions that are committed to diversity and inclusion (e.g., B Corp and Better Business Bureau, etc.).

Media Task Force:

Goal: social engagement through post and hosting online speaking events

Engage with the broader community by hosting virtual events (e.g., on Clubhouse) and posting on social media channels related to our mission and to amplify the activities of our partners. Also, curate Medium articles written by member and community leaders.

Our
Events

These are a few of our most recent programs. Each and every year, we carry out programs involving people of every age, interest, and need.
